Advertiser Overview

Through the power of geographically targeted local searching, My Christian Yellow pages can generate targeted prospective customers for your Christian business or Family Friendly business. No matter what type of business you operate, geographically targeted local search is an incredibly cost effective method to attract new prospective customers and convert them into paying customers even if your business doesn't have a website. Not only can you reach your local market, you can reach them before they even get to your area! In our transient society people are moving about once every three years. Most begin searching for information and businesses in their prospective community months before arriving.

Consumers Are Moving Rapidly Online For Local Information
Two thirds of all adult Americans now use the web on a regular basis - and they spend one third of their time online searching for information. For decades, printed Yellow Page directories and newspapers have been the consumer resources of choice for finding information about local businesses. But consumer behavior is changing rapidly and a growing number of consumers prefer to let their fingers do the walking online.

According to industry analyst firm Kelsey Group, online directory lookups could surpass print directory lookups within the next three years. And about 25% of all web searches, are searches for local businesses close to the consumers' home or workplace.  Our listings include MapQuest so that the consumer can print out directions to your brick and mortar business and a printer friendly version of your ad to print out.

Obviously potential customers want a user interface which makes it easy to find businesses and information such as:
  • Text-based interfaces that accept the users choice of town, business name, keywords in the description, zip code and more
  • Map-based interfaces where users can highlight their choice of location on a map
  • Location information which automatically provides the user maps and directions to the location.
  • Alphabetical State Listings
My Christian Yellow Pages provides all these and more including our hyper-search feature

My Christian Yellow Pages Offers Christian Businesses and Family Friendly Businesses A Competitive Edge, tipping the scales in favor of businesses by helping them locate and serve a targeted market looking specifically for Christian and family friendly products and services and who wish to support local Christian businesses or Family Friendly businesses.

Unlike Print Yellow Pages, you aren't locked into publishing mistakes for the whole year. You can edit your listing as often as you want on a 24x7x365 basis. Furthermore, we don't don't put ads to other businesses on your ad page. Each ad page is a unique stand alone ad for each business complete with the ability to add whatever contact information is needed, as well as a logo, and additional graphics depending on the ad option chosen.

My business doesn't have a website. How does online advertising benefit me?
Even if you don't have a website, you should not overlook the fact that 25% of people are looking for local businesses online. That is one in four people! How many people are in your community? According to industry analyst firm Kelsey Group, online directory lookups could surpass print directory lookups within the next three years. And about 25% of all web searches are searches for local businesses close to consumers' home or workplace.

Local Search Accounts for a Quarter of all Commercial Searches
A survey released earlier this year by The Kelsey Group and Bizrate.com questioned 5,000 online shoppers and discovered that a little over 25% of their searches were designed to locate merchants or businesses near their area of residence.  The survey also reported that 44% of those surveyed said they were conducting more local searches than they were the previous year.

About 70 percent of Google users seeking information about a merchant are primarily interested in local results, said Marissa Mayer, Google's director of consumer Web products. "People like to find and buy things in their neighborhoods."

Paid Search Goes Local
Web search engine companies are starting to compete with Yellow Page and newspaper publishers for "local search" consumer traffic and $65 billion in local advertising dollars.

New local search solutions from major search engines, coupled with the paid search online advertising model pioneered by Google and Overture, pose a significant threat to print publishers. The big question is this: Will online consumers choose popular sites like Google, Yahoo, AOL or MSN for local search? Or will they remain loyal to the publishers that provide online access to the same content they have been distributing in print for decades?

The problem with with the above posed question leaves out the fact that very little exists for either online or print versions of advertising targeted directly to Christian Shoppers and Family Friendly Shoppers, by businesses. My Christian Yellow Pages provides the only international resource for Christian shoppers and family friendly shoppers to find information they need in their own communities from Christian and Family Friendly Businesses.

Further, we believe our yellow pages is the most feature rich, low cost, option available of any commercial advertising resource and we don't don't put ads to other businesses on your ad page. Each ad page is a stand alone ad for each business.

My Christian Yellow Pages intends to be the best market leader for local search for the Christian community and to provide Christian consumers with the most rewarding local search experience possible to help them be good stewards of both their time and financial resources.

Local search gives local consumers a compelling reason to visit your retail store or website, and provides local businesses with a compelling reason to advertise with My Christian Yellow Pages to reach their targeted market.

Geographical Searching - the future of web search

Small  businesses can now advertise like big businesses at a far lower cost than ever before, and do so with surgical precision, targeting only their intended market. This maximizes the Return on Investment (ROI) of their advertising dollars because they focus only on their target market and get potential customers who are actually looking to purchase, not just those surfing the web and happening on something they saw. This is where geographical searching comes into play for local businesses. See Below.

Geographical searching combines text and geographic search options, enabling users to find what they want and where they want it, as more and more people go online to find information in their local area. Even if you don't have a website, My Christian Yellow Pages will help you because of the increasing number of people who are looking online for information on local shopping resources. With MCYP, you can reach those customers with printer friendly information about your business and how to contact you by phone, email and other contact information. Your potential customers can even get a printable map for directions to your business. We do web design too!

My Christian Yellow Pages Search services provide you with:

  • Searchable local Internet content worldwide
  • Integrated search results including local and website contact information, as well as a logo, and additional graphics depending on the ad option chosen.

Research and Statistics

Consumers Are Moving Rapidly Online For Local Information. Overture estimates that local-search Web advertising will be a $1 billion market by 2008.

About 70 percent of Google users seeking information about a merchant are primarily interested in local results, said Marissa Mayer, Google's director of consumer Web products. "People like to find and buy things in their neighborhoods."

As more homes sign up for high-speed Internet connections that make it easier to call up Web pages, people increasingly are turning to the Internet before the Yellow Pages for business referrals, said Greg Sterling, who studies local search for The Kelsey Group.

An estimated two thirds of all American adults use the web on a regular basis - spending one third of their time online searching for information. In the past, printed Yellow Page directories and newspapers have been the primary consumer resources of choice for finding information about local businesses.

Now however,  consumer behavior is changing rapidly and a growing number of consumers prefer to let their mouse do the clicking online. According to industry analyst firm Kelsey Group, online directory lookups could surpass print directory lookups within the next three years. And about 25% of all web searches are searches for local businesses close to consumers' home or workplace.

Google, which fields about 200 million queries a day, said its local service improves people's access to relevant information, its long-time mission. Using the local service, people will find business addresses, phone numbers and "one-click" driving directions to places of interest, all of which My Christian Yellow Pages already provides.

Search engine data reflect that anywhere from 5 percent to 30 percent of searches have a local or geographically targeted focus and approximately 10 percent are local "commercial" searches by people using online search to find information that will ultimately lead to a buying decision. That means something on the order of 80 million weekly local commercial searches are taking place in the U.S.

In 2003, North American print Yellow Pages were worth roughly $15.6 billion (US) in annual revenues. How does the Christian business compete in such a market? By using a more targeted form of advertising focusing on their core group of buyers that gives them more accurate, feature rich, and up to date information.

Estimates are that there are 10 million small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the U.S. market alone, and millions more in developed countries worldwide.

How does a Small Business fit into that picture? More importantly, how does the small business compete in such an ever growing environment? They do so by  tapping into the worldwide consumer market through the Internet, via simple and affordable advertising resources to make their products and services available around the world, something that until recently was only available to big businesses.
